Microsoft today announced that Windows admins can now choose to be notified by email when new known issues are added to the Windows Release Health section of the Microsoft 365 admin center.

After registration, IT admins will receive an email whenever known issues are added or updated with new information, including status changes, new workarounds, or issue resolutions.

As Redmond explained, it’s only available to those in admin roles in organizations with qualifying Windows or Microsoft 365 Enterprise subscriptions that provide access to Windows Release Integrity in the Data Center. Microsoft 365 administration.

“First, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and locate Windows Build Health under the Health menu.” said Mabel Gomes, Senior Program Manager Microsoft.

“If you don’t see this option or don’t have access to the admin center, contact your organization’s global admin and request admin access and role in the tenant.”

This new feature requires one of the following subscriptions: Microsoft 365 Enterprise E3/A3/F3, Microsoft 365 Enterprise E5/A5, Windows 10 Enterprise E3/A3, Windows 10 Enterprise E5/A5, Windows 11 Enterprise E3/A3 or Windows 11 Enterprise E5/A5.

How to sign up for email alerts

To subscribe to email notifications whenever new known Windows issues are added to the admin center or get an update, you need to:

  1. Go to the Windows Build Health Page.
  2. Select Preferences > E-mailthen select Send me email notifications about Windows build health.
  3. Specify the following information:
    • Email address for notifications (each administrator account can specify up to two email addresses in their email preferences).
    • Windows versions to notify.
  4. Select To safeguard when you are done specifying email addresses and Windows versions. It may take up to 8 hours for these changes to take effect.

It’s also important to note that if an issue affects multiple Windows versions, you’ll only receive one email alert, so you can sign up for multiple Windows versions without worrying about being spammed with notifications.

You can also change your notification preferences by visiting the Windows version health page, clicking on “Preferences” and choosing the Windows versions you want to be alerted about, the email addresses registered or to Completely stop receiving these emails.
