Amazon has banned the sale of the Flipper Zero handheld multi-tool for pen testers because it no longer allows it to be sold on the platform after labeling it as a card-skimming device.
The Flipper Zero is a compact, portable and programmable pen test tool that can help experiment and debug various digital devices and hardware via various protocols including RFID, radio, NFC, infrared, Bluetooth and others.

According to notices sent to sellers late Thursday, Amazon has now banned Flipper Zero from its platform, calling it “restricted product.”
Card skimming devices are listed on the Amazon Seller Central portal under the Lock picking and theft devices restricted product category, alongside key duplicating devices and shoplifting devices, such as sensormatic detachers.
Currently some links to previously available Amazon pages selling Flipper Zero tools are dead and display “Sorry, we couldn’t find this page. Try searching or go to the Amazon home page.” errors, while others mark it as “Unavailable”.
The only ads that can be found at the moment when searching for Pinball Zero on Amazon are accessories such as WiFi development boards, screen protectors and silicone cases.
“This product has been identified as a card skimming device. It is not Amazon policy to sell or offer for sale any card skimming device,” reads a notification sent to an Amazon seller (seen by BleepingComputer ) confirming that a Flipper Zero sales page has been removed from Amazon’s catalog.
“We have taken this action because this product is not authorized for sale on Amazon.com. It is your responsibility to ensure that the products you offer comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Amazon policies. vigor.”
The company also warned Flipper Zero sellers to check all their other listings and remove all other restricted products within 48 hours or face account deactivation.
“Within 48 hours of this warning, please review your listings and close, remove, or archive any listings that do not comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Amazon policies.”
“Failure to properly close or remove all restricted product listings from your inventory may result in your seller account being disabled and funds may be permanently blocked.”
However, not all potential Flipper Zero buyers will be upset by Amazon’s ban since those selling it on Amazon were doing so with a markup. If you want to buy a Pinball Zero, you can always get one from the official store of the manufacturerWho restocks regularly.
The National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil also captured incoming Pinball Zero purchases based on its alleged use by criminals. Brazilians who bought the devices say the government agency rejected all attempts to certify the device.
An Amazon spokesperson was unavailable for comment when contacted by BleepingComputer on Thursday, so we don’t yet know if this is a temporary ban or if the company will maintain the restriction of sale.
