Let’s talk about the cybersecurity silo problem. First, industry divisions burden practitioners. According ISSA, 77% of infosec professionals want to see more cooperation with industry, especially due to solution overload. In fact, in companies with more than 5,000 employees, teams manage an average of 76 different security tools, up from 64 in 2019 (Panaseer).

And second, in addition to struggling with the silos caused by provider sprawl, practitioners suffer from a lack of collaboration with their peers. A recent study by Panaseer revealed that “43% of security professionals have little or no understanding of . . . the metrics, policies and risk appetite used by peers, even though 99% of them think this information would be valuable. »

It’s time to change that. And that’s exactly what Mandiant, now part of Google Cloud, set out to do with mWISE, the Mandiant Worldwide Information Security Exchange.
